Q: Who are you?
A: I’m Shannon Laskey and I’m the proud creator of Going To Guides which celebrated TEN YEARS in 2025!

Q: What is Going To Guides?
A: GTG all started when I wrote, illustrated and designed a unique, interactive, fun and image-packed book about Disneyland in 2015, published by Orchard Hill Press. Now there are THREE titles, an Etsy shop AND a new Mail Club called the GTG Gazette!

Q: Where can I find the books?
A: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart and directly from me at GoingToGuides.com. Target.com 🎯 only has the DCA book.

Q: So, what’s in the Etsy shop?
A: One of my most popular items are my bandanas called Fandanas. You’ll also find printable downloads, stickers, buttons, patches, pins, journals called Imaginotebooks and book sleeves! One of my favorite things to create are Christmas ornaments and I release new designs each season.

Q: Do you live near a Disney park?
A: Not really! My husband and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our sons (A.K.A. = The Two Best People To Go To Disneyland With) are young adults now (somehow! 😭) and also live in California.

Q: Will there be books about parks outside of the US?
A: I sure hope so! I’d LOVE to do one on Tokyo Disneyland Resort next...

Q: What’s your fave ride? Fave land?
A: It changes but today I’ll say Pirates of the Caribbean (Disneyland’s version). Fave land doesn’t change = New Orleans Square!
