From a very young age, I've always felt a great admiration for these enormous old iron machines with a thousand buttons and little lights.
They really got me hypnotized, and it's a bit like what happens when I sit down in my studio.
Remembering the good times I had as a child admiring railway landscapes, and at the same time, 15 years later, using '90s equipment searching for a raw and characteristic sound, this new album was born.
With the understanding that these tracks are designed exclusively to be played on a sound system, the concept of "ruffness" is more than just music; it's a feeling, a vibe, it takes hold of you to make you meditate and uplift.
Since the age of 16, in 2018, Sr Conca began building dubs, always inspired by the sounds of the '80s and '90s and the intrinsic message of love and consciousness in reggae music.
By the year 2022, with the help of his big friend Leonardub, they started running the "Righteous Tank Sound System" in Barcelona, to create a way to share all the music and vibes that they've been accumulating.
In 2024 he founded Conca Records, his own label, to organize all the work of the past years, and build the foundation of a musical platform based on the self-management, far away from the musical industry.
Now, 8 years later, with a clearer vision, he proudly presents his new album: "Ruff Iron Dubs", with only one purpose: keep on spreading the love for the music that comes from the heart & soul.
All tracks produced & mixed by Sr Conca at Conca Studio, BCN.
Special mention to all Barcelona sound system Family, love you to the maximum!
