Two years ago, I visited Brasil to say goodbye to my maternal grandmother and, in that time, I spent an amazing few days with my paternal grandmother. It was time I’d never had with her and those irreplaceable moments strengthened our relationship like none other. This lovely woman passed away on Monday…she was incredibly loved by any and all who indulged in her presence. She taught me and my family invaluable lessons about perseverance, love, and forgiveness. I’m super thankful to have known her and am inconsolably saddened by her departure. I’m reminded of the phrase “heaven’s got a new angel” and have never been more confident in its truth. RIP Alair Barbosa Gomes, you are already seriously missed. ❤️
