As my youngest just graduated high-school and is getting ready to start her new college adventure in the fall, I am launching her into the big, bad world.

As this stage of being an empty nester approaches, I think often of the possibilities around the corner. What will I do with my time? Who am I anymore? How will my identity change now that the title of "mother" won't demand quite so much time and energy?

This wiil truly be the first time in my entire adult life without having a child in the house! I can imagine I will experience a variety of emotions while dealing with these changes. And am both scared and excited to see how our relationship will change now that she is grown and will be out of the house.
