Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the new Roadster at an event in Texas on Oct. 15.

According to CNN, the car uses 10 nozzles and what Musk described as “ultra high-pressure air tanks” to propel itself through the air and accelerate rapidly on the ground.

The car is expected to go into production in 2028.

Tesla’s new Roadster just hit 0-60 mph in a claimed 0.81 seconds ⚡

That’s the kind of acceleration normally associated with purpose-built drag cars, not something meant to resemble a road-going supercar.

Tesla says the next-gen Roadster will combine extreme EV performance with SpaceX-inspired hardware, including cold-gas thrusters.

If the production version actually delivers numbers like this, it would put the Roadster in a completely different category.
