I got one or two requests for a Land Dweller / 1530 side to side. So here it is. These two watches are intrinsically connected and yet they’re worlds apart. The 1530 was a fantastic mid-70’s hybrid of two technologies and two visions of the (then) future. The Land Dweller is a wonderful glimpse into how today’s Rolex is looking ahead. In an echo of the 1530, it combines the latest tech with design cues that we’ve seen before - the integrated case and bracelet from a later reference OysterQuartz. Wideboy markers. “Honeycomb” dial. It’s fascinating to see two same but different approaches to improved timekeeping and accuracy, presented in a similar format. It’s also easy to look at both and embrace the 1530 as the hands-down winner. But I think that does a disservice to the Land Dweller. Looks are subjective but t’s thinner, even more comfy on the wrist, more refined. So why pick between them if you can have both? Happy #watchpalmsunday folks. See you soon. ⌚️ @rolex Land Dweller 127234 ⌚️ @rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 1530 📸 @leicauk Q2 #rolex #landdweller #1530 #thatwatchpodcast

A bride in Jiangsu province turned her wedding into a hardware unboxing ceremony when she surprised her gamer groom with an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 — one of the most powerful (and hardest to get) consumer graphics cards on the planet. She didn't just hand it over. First, she made him solve a math puzzle built from Chinese internet love codes: 520 × 10 + 1314 − 514 − 619 + 666 − 957. In Chinese online slang, 520 sounds like "I love you" and 1314 sounds like "forever." The answer: 5090, the exact model number of the GPU waiting backstage. Only after he cracked it did staff bring out the box. The groom tore it open, recognized the card, and immediately broke down crying — then held it over his head like a championship trophy and paraded it past the guests. The emcee roasted him gently, telling him to "take the fruit of your life and show it off." Here's the kicker: this specific RTX 5090 variant isn't even officially sold in mainland China through normal retail channels, making it a genuine white-whale item for Chinese PC builders. Overseas it retails around $2,799, but scarcity has pushed street prices far higher. For a groom described as a hardcore gaming and hardware enthusiast, the gift was basically a love letter written in silicon and VRAM. #ChinaInsiderNews #PCGaming #ChineseWedding #LoveStory source: chinainsider.news
