I may have been outside looking cute and cutting up on the dance floor 💃🏽😂… but baby, I was RUNNING ON FUMES.
The day before this cookout, I hit what felt like 50-11 grocery stores, spent hours cooking, loading, unloading, and making sure everything came together. By Sunday, I was exhausted.
And I’d do it all over again.
Seeing more than 200 people gather together to enjoy a FREE vegan cookout reminded me why this work matters. So many people think choosing a plant-based lifestyle means giving up the foods, flavors, and memories they grew up with.
It doesn’t.
This is what community looks like. This is what representation tastes like. This is what happens when we show people they don’t have to leave the cookout—they just need a different plate. ❤️🌱
