Love was in the air… literally.
On July 1, 2026, high above New York City, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov climbed to the top of the Empire State Building’s spire—around 1,454 feet above the ground. With no ropes, no harnesses, and no room for mistakes, Ivan got down on one knee and proposed while standing above one of the world’s most iconic skylines.
She said yes.
The couple is already known for their extreme rooftop climbs around the world, and their story was even featured in Netflix’s Skywalkers: A Love Story. But this proposal may be their boldest moment yet. Soon after, both were taken into custody.
