Before anyone says it... no, I am not a firefighter.

I can't climb a ladder without questioning my life choices. I don't own a fireproof suit. And if someone handed me a hose and said, "You're up," I'd probably ask if this is something we can circle back to after coffee.

Over the past 1,000 days I've become an expert in many things. Running to a safe room in under 30 seconds. Sleeping with one eye open. Knowing the difference between a rocket, a drone, and an interception by sound alone. Refreshing the Home Front Command app like it's social media.

None of those skills qualify me to be a firefighter.

But for the past 1,000 days I've had the privilege of working alongside some of the greatest heroes Israel has.

While the rest of us were running to shelters, they were running into burning buildings. While missiles were falling, they were pulling families out of wreckage.

Wildfires. Rocket strikes. Car accidents. Terror attacks. Drone attacks. Building collapses. Medical rescues. Hazardous material incidents. You name it. They showed up.

Again. And again. And again.

The crazy part? They don't do it for applause. They don't do it for Instagram. They don't even get to dramatically remove their helmets while slow motion music plays in the background. Half the time they don't make the news at all. They quietly put on their gear, kiss their families goodbye, and hope they come home after saving someone else's.

Over the past 1,000 days they've answered tens of thousands of emergencies while Israel has fought on multiple fronts. They don't ask who you voted for, what religion you are, or where you're from.

They just save you. So today I'm asking for them. Not because I wear the uniform. Not because I'm a firefighter.

But because I've seen what they do when everyone else is running away. If you've ever wanted your donation to literally help save lives, this is one of those moments.

They need us to make sure the truck starts, the gear works, and everyone goes home 💙
