My husband @the.chrisrobbins took me hiking for my birthday, and I learned something I will never forget… Chris loves hiking. He’s experienced, he’s fast, and I’m usually somewhere behind him wondering if I’m slowing him down. But then he shared something a monk once taught him… With every step you take, imagine you’re giving the earth a little massage 🌎 Instead of rushing to get somewhere, slow down. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Be present. Imagine that every step is bringing a little peace and positive energy into the world. I had NEVER thought about walking that way before, suddenly, it wasn’t about how fast I could hike or how far we could go. It was about being here. Together. Surrounded by all this beauty. What a beautiful reminder that you don’t always need to get somewhere to enjoy where you are. Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down and enjoy every step ❤️

Deepavali begins with memory for Thanuska: sitting on her mom’s bed, watching her get ready at the dressing table, as saree drapes, flowers, kajal, lipstick and kungumam became the finishing touches that stayed with her. “My mom was always the one getting my sister and me ready growing up, and I learned so much just by watching her. Black kajal and lipstick were staples in her routine and became some of the first makeup products I loved wearing myself. Those little rituals stayed with me and still shape the way I get ready today. My mom worked at a MAC facility when I was young, so celebrating these traditions with MAC today feels like such a full-circle moment.” Shop Thanuska’s MAC festive favourites online and in-store.
