This is something we’ve held close to our hearts over the past few years, but with October being Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month ❤️‍🩹 it feels like the right time to finally start sharing our story… When we started dating, one of the things we talked about early on was how important our families were to us, and how much we both really wanted kids of our own. When we talked about our future family it was never a question of “if” but “when”. So we decided to be proactive and put our names on the funded IVF list right after we got engaged in 2022 😅 and got called up the month after we got married in November of 2023. We were so excited to start our family and immediately started dreaming of celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary with a little one in tow. No one can really prepare you for how those dreams and future plans can be taken away when you face fertility struggles, and we were shattered after our first miscarriage. It’s honestly something we weren’t sure we’d be ready to share, but we also know how isolating and lonely it can feel to go through recurrent implantation failure and pregnancy loss. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have friends that have gone through similar struggles (it’s truly the worst club to be part of, but it has the best members ❤️‍🩹) and we were also able to find community online with others sharing their journeys too 💕 I guess the hope is that in starting to share our story, others going through similar struggles feel seen, a little less alone, and maybe even help avoid going through some of the things we had to navigate that we would do differently in hindsight. If you are going through fertility treatments, have had embryo loss, pregnancy loss, or are child-free after IVF we see you. You aren’t walking this path alone, and please reach out to us any time if you want to vent or ask questions or just share what you’re going through. It’s too much to carry alone, and there are so many others quietly going through it too 💕
