Pride Month may be in June, but at Head Gear, celebrating LGBTQ+ stories and authentic representation goes far beyond a single month.
We believe in championing films that reflect the richness and diversity of lived experiences that challenge perspectives, spark conversation, and create space for greater understanding.
This Pride, we’re highlighting a few powerful queer characters from films we’re proud to have financed:
🌈 Jake (A Kid Like Jake, 2018) - An imaginative and fearless child whose love of self-expression challenges expectations around gender and inspires conversations about acceptance.
🌈 Sofia (Hot Milk, 2025) - A quiet yet fiercely curious young woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery, embracing her independence, desire, and queer identity.
🌈 Dr. Henry Guthrie (The Choral, 2025) - A brilliant and uncompromising choirmaster whose love of music, quiet resilience, and understated identity make him a moving portrait of authenticity in wartime Britain.
🌈 Danni (The Housekeeper, 2026) - A working-class housekeeper whose passionate affair with Daphne du Maurier changes both of their lives and inspires one of literature’s most iconic characters.
