I can’t stress enough if you see something in when your electronics, an old phone, maybe old batteries and it looks puffy or weird. It can catch fire please please please be safe. If it’s already expanding, put it in some sand and transport it to the next Best Buy I suppose. #bestbuy #batterysafety #safety #staysafe #lithiumbattery

if the battery wasn’t bloated like that, thrift stores always take old electronics !! i just bought a kindle at one today for like $30 !

Do not turn them in at Best buy. The program is largely fake. I used to work for Best buy, half the shit just goes in the dumpster behind the store. They don't even wipe the data. I actually now go back there and dumpster dive now that I'm not an employee and get a lot of really cool shit. Your best bet is local mom and pop tech shops, call around and see if any of them do tech recycling and ask them to wipe it for you so your personal data is no longer on the device
