Today is supposed to be a celebration of 250 years of American history, but for many of us, the weight of life is hard to ignore. Watching families being separated day after day, "progress" begins to feel like a word from the past.

My heart is with my community today, with the brave individuals who left everything behind for a chance at a better life, and with those who continue to bring so much color and life to our society.

I am so grateful to call this place my home, a place where so many different cultures and languages weave together to make us who we are.

Regardless of borders or citizenship status, every single person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

A man asked an African tribe: «Can a man become a woman?» The answer was a flat «No.»

When asked about «non-binary,» the tribe responded: «You’re not a human.»

They explained that a man is a man and a woman is a woman — based on their bodies. That’s how they know.

Then the interviewer asked: «What if it’s a woman with a male body part?» — and people started laughing.

Why does this clip go viral? Is it the culture clash, the bluntness, or the questions it raises about universal vs. relative truths?

What does it reveal about the limits of modern ideas when they meet traditions untouched by those debates?

Are we afraid to ask these questions in the West?
