3 months agoChurch hurt does emotional, physical, and psychological damage and may take years to heal from. Especially if you we're dealing with spiritual narcissist. I fear authority bc of it. I believe in Jesus, and the Bible. However their is so much brain washing and indoctrination in the Church that isn't biblical and harmful. It can create a distortion in identity and affect your day to day life.

3 months ago"Spiritual narcissism occurs when someone uses religious or spiritual beliefs to mask their ego, creating a "holier-than-thou" attitude. Instead of using these practices for true enlightenment or humility, they twist tenets to claim superiority, manipulate followers or partners, and avoid accountability."

4 months agoI felt this in my soul. Nothing more disappointing than church hurt. It helped me in my spiritual walk overall though.
4 months agoThank you for sharing. This is why you're one of my favorite authors. Your work resonates deeply with me because I have experienced church hurt, and have been going through a journey of deconstructing and reconstructing my faith. Your characters speak to the complexities of the intersection of faith, life, and love in ways that I think most people can relate to. I'm grateful for your representation in the literary world.
