2 months agoSoz but I'm not gonna listen to someone talk about the narrow definition of masculinity when they themselves fit that narrow definition. What do you know about being outside the box?
4 months agoMy daughter went to Camp , there were boys too. They did not talk they were scared they were on their own. No one had taught them how to be social friendly to each other. And positive. I felt so bad for them! They didn’t seem to be enjoying being with other people! start teaching the boys the way girls are taught. To be open to be vulnerable and that strength comes from being in a group of friends who love you. That it is human and a high value to be sensitive and share your emotions. That it connects you and enables you to be loved. Men deserve to be loved. But a man who has been stiffled of his humanity will not be open for Love and confuse it with control or power over someone.
4 months agoThis is a huge problem that not enough people are talking about 🙌 Young men absolutely need space to understand and express emotion, but they also need healthy role models who teach resilience, boundaries, and how to stand up to harmful people without becoming harmful themselves. Positive outlets, purpose, and places to belong matter too. Closing community spaces, sports clubs, and youth groups is only making the problem worse. It’s worrying to see where things are headed.
4 months agoA major problem with these things is the public treating it like a “my team” problem, you will get women seeing this and saying “well women have it worse” then on a post about women hardships you will have men doing the exact same thing, treating it like a competition when it’s a human problem not a gender specific problem it’s about time we all came together.
4 months agoMy dad's a toxic arsehole, I got raised in a pub until he abandoned us, then my single mum raised 3 kids alone. I've made several suicide attempts, it wasn't until I embraced my feminine side that I stopped fighting. I now have several Disney tattoos, my sister in law paints my nails and have great relationships. I'm so glad my dad left.
4 months agoMen have moved away from God, they need an authority over them because without that they will always fall short. A man who fears God and walks in purpose knows no amount of sinking pints at the pub and dancing around drinking cacao in a field is all meaningless without God. If all you submit to is your own authority, it’s a destined road to hell.
4 months ago'The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.' - bell hooks
4 months agoThe only people who can stop those problem are men- so maybe instead of hating women, those men could hold each other to account. The new himbo movement- strong, kind, seeking knowledge, compassionate, gentle, big muscle, kind heart, tiny shorts 💪🏽💕
4 months agoGood sisters and good parents. Good friend. And still here. When an ex tells you to "man up". They became an ex for a reason.
4 months agoSociety to men: you’re not allowed to feel or express emotions, apart from anger. As we’re all human and feel the full spectrum of emotions - men’s shame, despair, loneliness all get converted into anger. Which is probably why so many men end up in prison or feel there’s no way out but suicide. Conversely, society tells women: you are emotional beings but you must never access anger. That’s for men. Women push the anger down and internalise it. Which is perhaps why you see higher prevalence of self-harm and eating disorders being the number one mortality risk for women of any psychiatric disorder. If we all allowed ourselves to feel our damn feelings we would be a much healthier and happier society.
