You don't see too many hardcore permit tournaments handing out awards for muttons. At least I don't. But when @loren.rea.keywest reached out and asked me to have some fun with it, I jumped at the opportunity.
Like the pieces we've created for the Cuda Bowl over the past few years, these guys - for both angler and guide - are whimsical, Keys-y representations of the real thing. I cut and carved them from found scrap, whittled bamboo skewers for the teeth and cut the pecs from doorskin plywood. The background is salvaged cabinetry plywood and I milled the frames from cedar I found in the trash. Rusty nails hold down the embossed metal tags that I made with a Dymo label maker. I hope the winners love 'em.
