I’m definitely proud to be American but also proud of my Mexican roots. Now more than ever I try to show appreciation for my family that fought so hard for what they earned here. Family/ grandparents that were discriminated against, frowned upon because of their choices of clothing/ culture, couldn’t even drink from the same fountains or swim in the same pools. For them, for the memory.
