Four and a half seasons, two Junior World Championships, three British Champions titles. Countless flights, training sessions, laughs, tears and memories we’ll never forget. ❤️⛸️ After an incredible journey together, our time as competitive ice dance partners has come to an end. We started this journey as skating partners and leave it with a shared history that neither of us will ever forget. We’ve worked hard, learned so much and experienced things we could only have dreamed of when we first stepped onto the ice together. It’s incredibly sad to say goodbye to something that has been such a big part of our lives. But we’re choosing to look back with pride, gratitude and a smile at everything we’ve achieved together. Not every story needs to go on forever to be extraordinary. Some are special because they happened at all. We want to thank our coaches, @quinnieore @alan.abretti @neil_brown @mauriziothecap from the bottom of our hearts for their support, guidance and friendship, without whom this incredible shared journey would still only be a dream. Thank you @britishiceskating for their continued support, and for allowing us the opportunity to experience something so special together. And thank you of course to our home rink Alexandra Palace @skateatallypally And finally, thank you to each and every one of you, from the skating world and beyond, who has done so much to support us along this journey. Joe is taking some time to consider what comes next. Mimi wishes to continue progressing her success in ice dance and is searching for a new partner. All of our love, Mimi and Joe x Picture @isufigureskating @jurijkodrun Thank you
Had dit met niemand anders willen missen.🤍 A special day filled with so much love and warmth. A day full of beautiful emotions and precious moments that will forever hold a special place in my heart. I wouldn’t have wanted to share this experience with anyone else. 🤍 #loveisblind #loveisblindnl
What Dr. Brown is saying here also aligns with Dr. Russell Barkley’s insight that motivation is inextricably tied to emotion. Dr. William Dodson described ADHD as having an interest-based nervous system. He identified five factors that can increase motivation for ADHDers (based on observations of his psychiatry patients): Interest Novelty Passion Urgency Challenge So how about it? Next time someone asks you if you have ADHD, maybe you’ll just plainly tell them you have EDM (Erect*le Dysfunction of the Mind) 🤪. I cite a lot of Dr. Brown’s work in my book, and for those who are interested, he published a great book about ADHD and emotional dysregulation titled “Smart, but Stuck.” #adhd #psychology #emotions #motivation #neurodivergent Hi there! My name is Dr. Gilly. I’m a clinical psychologist, a mom, and a writer with ADHD. I create content for neurodivergent individuals, other therapists, parents, and individuals with conditions that often co-occur with ADHD and autism. A lot of my content also focuses on writing, social skills, and my special interests. I work best with a whole lot of realness and humor and a hint of bite. My book on the emotional dysregulation+rejection sensitivity components of ADHD in females (“ALLOW ME TO INTERRUPT”) is officially out! Consider following because you may never see me again! 🦸🏻‍♀️ Dr. Gilly Kahn does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment via social media.
