A joint press conference by All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke turned chaotic in New Delhi on October 15, as a group of people interrupted the event with slogans. Shouts of “Band karo… dafa ho jao” (Stop it… get lost) could be heard as the press conference began at the Press Club of India. Bora urged the organisers to escort those disrupting the event out, while Dipke addressed the ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged that student activists and opposition leaders had been detained during demonstrations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The press conference was also attended by advocate Prashant Bhushan, Kapil Sibal and actor Prakash Raj. The incident came a day before CJP’s planned “Lehra Do Tiranga” march in Delhi’s Connaught Place, where authorities had stepped up security and imposed restrictions on public gatherings. The protests centre on demands for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and allegations of irregularities in voter-list revisions—claims disputed by the Election Commission.

Pooh Shiesty’s legal team is fighting to change his jail conditions, claiming the Memphis rapper is spending 23 hours a day confined to his cell while awaiting trial. Attorneys for Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., reportedly filed an emergency motion Thursday, October 15, challenging his treatment at Rolling Plains Regional Jail in Texas. His lawyers allege the facility has restricted his monthly visitation to just two hours instead of the four-hour minimum they argue he should receive. “He has not been told who or what poses a threat to him, and no one has explained why confining him to his cell 23 hours per day is necessary to address it,” the motion states. According to his defense, jail officials have cited unspecified safety concerns despite Shiesty allegedly having no significant disciplinary issues. His family is also raising concerns about his mental health. His aunt, who traveled from Memphis for a visit that lasted just one hour, claimed she has “seen Lontrell decline mentally and emotionally” since his transfer. She described him as “worn down, extremely anxious, and seems severely depressed.” His attorneys want a judge to end the restrictive confinement and restore visitation privileges. The emergency request follows Shiesty’s unsuccessful attempt to secure bond in July. He has pleaded not guilty to federal k*dnapping and r*bbery charges involving Gucci Mane. His trial is scheduled for February 22, 2027.
