It’s amazing how quickly everything changes once the season gets going…
We spend weeks waiting for the peonies to finally start popping, checking on them every morning. Then a couple of hot days or a good rainstorm comes through, and before you know it, they’re already on their way out. It never feels like we get quite enough time with them.
Then it’s July, and the gardens start to fill with brand new beauties that remind us every flower has its season.
But in spite of all the pretty that follows.… there’s just something about those first peonies that always have me wrapped around their petals with anticipation ✨

The peonies are beautiful… I just read that our penny farms here in Alaska will not be very generous with flowers this year, due to the wind and the winter.
