I love to do a free Houston Museum District day! Here are my tips to saving 💰💰💰:

1. Don’t pay for parking! Get there early (before 9am) and get to parking lot C! Located right at Centennial Gardens and across from Miller Outdoor Theater.

2. Get a Family Pass to the @childrensmuseumhouston from the @harriscountypl. We’ve gotten several over the years, but this one we got for completing the summer reading program!

3. This one might be girl math, but I think it’s paid for itself by this point! Get a membership to @hmns! It’s our favorite place to be! 🦖 🦋 🧬

4. Pack a lunch and eat outside the museum! Nothing beats a picnic lunch!

5. Enjoy the scenic walk back through Centennial Gardens to the parking lot! Perfect morning complete!

🚨 FIREARM SCARE AT MONTREAL’S FAMOUS ORANGE JULEP! 🚔

Two men in their 20s were arrested early Saturday after reports of a firearm sent provincial police to the iconic Orange Julep.

Officers arrived around 1 a.m., but the two men fled their vehicle on foot before being arrested.

Multiple police vehicles were also reportedly damaged overnight.

For nearly 2 years, the Trump administration and Russ Vought have relied on propaganda like this to enable an unprecedented destruction of scientific research. Thousands of federally funded research grants have been terminated or frozen, tens of thousands of scientists and research personnel have left federal agencies, billions of dollars in cuts to research agencies have been proposed, and efforts have been made to give political appointees final authority over federal research funding.

But tomorrow’s election could change this trajectory.

A shift in the congressional majority could give Congress the power to protect science agencies and research funding, permanently block the OMB proposal that would give political appointees oversight over federal funding, ensure allocated funds are spent, and hold the administration accountable for its attacks on scientific research.

I’m often asked what we can do to fight back against these attacks on science. Tomorrow, we have an opportunity to do exactly that.
