💰 You could be earning royalties you didn't even know existed.
Most artists keep track of streaming and publishing royalties, but Neighbouring Rights are often overlooked, even though they can be a valuable source of additional income.
So, what are Neighbouring Rights?
They're royalties generated when your recorded music is played publicly, whether that's on radio, TV, in clubs, bars, shops, gyms, restaurants, or through certain digital radio services. Here's the difference:
• Publishing royalties pay the people who wrote the song.
• Neighbouring Rights pay the performers on the recording and the owner of the master recording.
If your track is played on UK radio:
• Songwriter receives publishing royalties.
• Recording generates neighbouring rights royalties, shared between the performer(s) and the master owner.
