As some of you will know we are loathe to travel south of the river despite being from there originally. But the lure of Brixton’s excellent @maureensbrixtonkitchen courtesy of @melissafood was hard to resist. Fried chicken and plantain. Oxtail. Curry goat. All delicious. The 8 year old devoured two bowls of rice and peas and more. Guess we can travel to #sarflondon after all… 😂

Prenatal depression came back this pregnancy. Only this time, it came back even heavier. There were many days during my first trimester where my mind went to some really dark places. It scared me. And if you’ve ever experienced depression, you know how isolating it can feel. Add moving to a new state, being pregnant, and trying to show up for your kids, and some days felt impossible. But something beautiful happened in the middle of all of it. People showed up. Friends, family, strangers… people who had no idea how much they were carrying me just by being there. They reminded me that even when I couldn’t see the light, I wasn’t walking through the darkness alone. I’m trying to count my blessings, even on the days it’s hard. I don’t believe depression is beautiful. It’s painful, confusing, and exhausting. But I do believe God can bring beauty from it. It has made me ask deeper questions. It has made me slow down. It has reminded me what really matters. It has taught me that strength sometimes looks like asking for help instead of pretending you’re okay. I don’t have all the answers yet. But I do know this: I’m here to love deeply. To raise my babies. To tell the truth about the hard parts. And if sharing my story helps even one person feel less alone, then every vulnerable conversation has been worth it. If you’re quietly fighting a battle no one else can see, I’m so glad you’re still here. 🤍

This is one of the rarest and most dangerous sounds you can hear in a thunderstorm. While climbing high on an exposed mountain, a climber recorded an eerie crackling and buzzing sound just moments before a lightning strike. This phenomenon is caused by an intense electric field building in the air, which can make metal gear, ropes, or even hair begin to buzz or crackle. It’s a serious warning sign that lightning may be about to strike nearby. If you ever hear this sound outdoors, especially on exposed terrain, experts recommend getting to lower ground immediately if it’s safe to do so.
