🧡❤️💚❤️🧡 Summer roses have their moment in the sunshine, but some roses have a little encore when autumn arrives ….. This is Francis E Lester, a rose that never lets me down, whether it’s summer or autumn. In summer, it’s covered in beautiful, delicate flowers, and as the seasons change, those flowers give way to the most gorgeous clusters of bright orange red hips, bringing colour and interest to the garden long after the petals have fallen. The rose hips are a reminder that autumn is well and truly here. The days are changing, the garden is slowing down, and I’m already thinking about next year’s flowers. And the timing couldn’t be better, because bare-root rose season is just around the corner! If you’ve been dreaming of adding a rose to your own garden, this is the perfect time to start thinking about which varieties you’d love to grow. Francis E Lester is certainly one I’d recommend, especially if you love a rose that offers these stunning autumn jewels. Do you choose roses just for their flowers, or do you love the rose hips just as much? I know our blackbirds 🐦‍⬛ will be very happy this winter! Happy Floral Friday everyone. 😀 #rosehip #ramblingrose #bareroot #rosegarden #roselover Francis E Lester rose ~ Francis E Lester rose hips ~ rambling roses for cottage gardens ~ roses with autumn hips ~ autumn cottage garden ~ rose hips in autumn ~ bare root roses UK ~ when to plant bare root roses ~ romantic cottage garden ~ Yorkshire cottage garden ~ autumn garden inspiration ~ roses for year-round interest ~ rose gardening ~ new gardeners ~ gardening ~ cottage home ~ cottage garden ~ English roses ~ stone cottage ~ planting roses ~ bare root season
An internal investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (#CMPD) has reportedly found “no evidence” that a racist group chat involving officers impacted criminal cases or law enforcement actions.😳👀 Police Chief Estella Patterson announced that the department reviewed body camera footage, arrest records, traffic stop data, and complaint histories to determine whether the officers’ alleged biases influenced their work. “As of this point, we have not found any evidence of this,” Patterson said. ICYMI: the investigation stems from a group chat uncovered during a separate State Bureau of Investigation inquiry into an officer’s misuse of #Flock cameras. The messages reportedly spanned several years and contained racial, s3xual, and religious bias. It’s also alleged that the officers used the group chat to compete over who could pull over the most Black drivers. According to reports, over half a dozen officers were involved. Three have since resigned, while an internal board unanimously recommended terminating three others. Patterson described her reaction as “one of disgust, anger and frustration,” adding, “The allegations against them are serious, they’re deeply troubling, and frankly, I’m disappointed that we’re even having to talk about this today.” Although the department says it hasn’t uncovered evidence of discriminatory enforcement, Patterson says she’s pushing for further accountability. CMPD plans to seek the revocation of the officers’ #NorthCarolina law enforcement certifications, and she has requested a federal review for potential civil rights violations. The department is also strengthening body camera audits, reviewing hiring practices, and expanding oversight measures to prevent similar misconduct. #TJBCrew, are y’all satisfied with the outcome of this investigation?🚔

Pentagon intelligence analyst Lawrence Franklin was convicted of spying for Israel in 2005. Franklin began his career with the Defense Intelligence Agency in 1979 and also served as an officer in the Air Force Reserves, reaching the rank of Colonel. At the time of his arrest, he was an Iran desk officer in the Pentagon’s Near East and South Asia Bureau. Beginning in August 2002, he met at least 15 times with Steve Rosen and Keith Weissman, lobbyists from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. During these meetings he verbally passed classified information related to Iran, handed over a draft National Security Presidential Directive concerning U.S. policies toward Iran, and faxed them a classified annex to a draft policy document. He also met several times with Naor Gilon, the chief political officer at the Israeli embassy. According to an FBI affidavit, on June 26th, 2003, Franklin verbally passed them information on a pending attack in Iraq. Rosen immediately relayed this to Gilon. Days later, Franklin’s security clearance was revoked for the remainder of the investigation. He began cooperating with the FBI and met with Rosen and Weissman several more times. In June 2004, investigators searched Franklin’s home and found 83 classified documents, 37 of which were marked Top Secret. Franklin pleaded guilty to three charges related to espionage and was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison, which was later reduced to 10 months of house arrest. Charges were dropped against Rosen and Weissman, although both were fired from AIPAC. According to an article in the Guardian, their attorneys intended to call former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other officials to establish that the government regularly used AIPAC to discreetly send information to Israel. Following his conviction, the Franklins descended into poverty while Lawrence worked a series of odd jobs for low wages including as a parking valet, dishwasher, and furniture mover. According to Newsweek, in October 2020, Franklin and his wife were both hospitalized for several days after eating rotten food he scavenged from a dumpster. #israel #aipac #pentagon #fbi #embassy
