During my recent visit to Sri Lanka with @minesadvisorygroup , I had the privilege of meeting Victoria.
When she was 18, she found an interesting object lying on the ground while she was out collecting firewood.
She didn’t know what it was but her curiosity got the better of her. She wanted to open it, and find out what might be inside. Her first instinct was to bite it… nothing happened.
She threw it on the ground and tried to kick it. Again, nothing happened. She lifted it into her lap and sat down to exert some pressure on what she thought was the lid. She pushed her upper hand firmly into the object to try and release it.
And then she woke up in hospital: missing two hands, part of her face and having suffered internal injuries to the area near her heart.
Victoria’s is a remarkable story of resilience and hope.
But her story also shows why this work matters. Landmines and unexploded weapons can remain hidden for decades, putting children at risk as they go about their everyday lives.
The land must be cleared, so that no other child has to face what Victoria did.

WEEK + WEEKEND RECAP! 🍂🏰❤️ You can comment WEEK for links to daily outfits!

A recap from what this 50-year-old mama wore in Learning Land to making memories in the most magical place on earth! BECAUSE…. When your college boys decide they want to spend their fall break with you, YOU GO! No convincing needed.

We squeezed THREE Disney parks into one Saturday, ate our way around EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, rode ALL the rides (some more willingly than others 🤭), laughed a whole lot, and ended the night with full hearts and tired feet. The outfits were fun, but these memories? They’re everything. P.S. College mamas, when they ask to hang out with you, the answer is ALWAYS YES. 🥹

Comment WEEK below to receive a DM with the link to this post on my LTK ⬇ https://liketk.it/6pCH0

Meet Luna, the beautiful white lioness whose enchanting eyes can melt even the hardest of hearts! Living at Nature Park Zoo in Daegu, South Korea, Luna captures everyone's attention with her stunning ivory-white fur, mesmerizing blue-grey eyes, and incredibly gentle expression.

White lions are extremely rare and are not a separate species or albino lions. Their unique, creamy-white coats are caused by a genetic condition called leucism, which reduces pigmentation while allowing them to retain their eye color. Their striking appearance makes them truly special, but just like other lions, they are powerful wild animals that deserve respect, proper care, and a safe environment.

Looking at Luna resting so peacefully while receiving a gentle touch, it's hard not to fall in love with her adorable face! Her calm expression reminds us of the beauty and wonder of wildlife, while also highlighting the importance of protecting these magnificent animals for future generations.

Nature is full of extraordinary wonders, and Luna is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the rarest things leave the biggest impressions on our hearts.

Would you be able to resist those beautiful eyes? 🥺
