⚓️ MARINERS SWEEP THE BOBCATS! ⚓️
It was another successful night at Historic Woodruff Park as your Bartonville Mariners picked up two more victories over the Central Illinois Bobcats, extending their winning streak to four games!
In the resumed opener, the Mariners picked up right where they left off. Beginning in the top of the 5th inning, the offense added a pair of insurance runs while the defense shut the door, preventing any Bobcats comeback and securing the victory.
Game 2 belonged to the Mariners from the start. The offense stayed hot all night, stringing together timely hits and putting constant pressure on the Bobcats defense to power the team to another win.
On the mound, Trevor Thacker was simply dominant. Thacker tossed a no-hitter, coming just one defensive play shy of a perfect game, while the Mariners defense played flawless baseball behind him. Together, the lights-out pitching and disciplined defense completed another outstanding team performance.
The Mariners will look to keep the momentum rolling tomorrow, Saturday, July 11, as they take on the Tazewell County Renegades at Historic Woodruff Park.
Come out and support your Mariners as they look to extend their winning streak and continue making waves this season!
