Belvebuth - VANITY (2023)

SPOTIFY & YOUTUBE

“VANITY” is an aggressive blackened deathcore song by the American metal band Belvebuth, officially released on April 7, 2023. It stands as the fifth track on their conceptually driven debut studio album, ESSENCE OF EVIL.
Consistent with the title ESSENCE OF EVIL, the album is a concept record built entirely around the Seven Deadly Sins and their corresponding manifestations. “VANITY” acts as the centerpiece of this exploration, focusing on pride, superficiality, and self-obsession. Lyrically, the song adopts a dark, sinister tone that strips away human ego, opening with a direct, chilling confrontation:
“Now look into the mirror. And tell me what you see. Face misshapen...”
Musically, the song embodies the crushing weight of the modern heavy underground scene. It relies on low, guttural vocals, frantic “slam” patterns, down-tuned atmospheric guitar grooves, and massive, punishing breakdowns.
