This week we want to spotlight one of our very own sisters who has a first hand experience with Make-A-Wish, Chi Omega’s national philanthropy!💛✨ “I was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome- a very rare and complex congenital heart defect. It is 100% fatal without a heart transplant or a series of open heart surgeries. I spent the first 4 years of my life in and out of the hospital. I had 3 open heart surgeries and spent weeks in the Cardiac ICU. I was granted a Wish when I was 5 years old. I spent a week at Disneyworld with NFL Hall of Fame, Kurt Warner and his family. That week was a week of emotional healing not only for me, but also my family. We met 3 other families that week who had children with my same diagnosis. I was able to meet 3 little boys about my age who had the same big scar on their chest that I have. I was treated like a princess that entire week. I am forever grateful to the Make-A-Wish foundation for giving me and my family a chance to heal and for helping us create a lasting memory. I’m so excited to now be able to help fundraise for Make-A-Wish through Chi Omega, with sisters who understand the significance of how this will impact children and their families. What a full-circle moment!” - Kate-Tyler Lipke PC ‘26 @katetyler.l Check out our story to learn ways to donate to Make-A-Wish to make more dreams come true just like Kate-Tyler’s!
Anyone else get the urge to cut a bang mid fall? I’ve been thinking about doing a more drastic cut… working up the nerve I think with a little short bang (short for me ok!). Might just pop out a whole new head soon tbd ♥️
Let’s do this thing! #dancingwiththestars #dwts
