We cordially invite you to the TOR gallery for another „cyclographic” feast: an exhibition of works by Paweł Borkowski (frm), titled Madison.
Madison is a track cycling team event in which two riders cooperate, swapping places during the race through a characteristic handshake to transfer momentum to their partner. This work relates that gesture to the actions of the community centered around the Orzeł velodrome at New Dynasy. It is a symbol of collaboration and collective effort—passing the energy forward to restore life to this place.
Paweł Borkowski (frm) is based in Wrocław and is one-half of the Projektor Group. He works in graphic design, photography, and occasionally drawing. He prefers to spend his free time on a bike, usually heading uphill. For reasons known only to himself, he finds this enjoyable.
As he puts it: „Searching for a new form from project to project is my feature. Diversity represents my approach to visualizing ideas.”
This approach perfectly aligns with the ethos of the Madison, and cycling in general, where the goal is achieved through working together.
Paweł Borkowski: MADISON gTOR, ul. Podskarbińska 11, Warsaw (Located in front of the Orzeł – New Dynasy velodrome clubhouse) Duration: Starts in mid-July 2026, viewable 24/7 until the end of August. Finissage: The closing event in September will feature a live screen printing session.
The open-air gTOR velodrome gallery is an artistic outpost of the New Dynasy Initiative, which is fighting to open the New Dynasy grounds to the residents of Warsaw. The era of monofunctional facilities is over. We believe that New Dynasy can become a multifaceted, democratic space where art and recreation intersect, inspiring community life. Our work at gTOR is just one example that a velodrome does not have to serve only cycling! It can become an arena for many activities from the field of culture—not just physical culture.
