Artist spotlight: Swaleha Masude ✨

In “Countermyths: Fifty-Sixth Annual UC Berkeley MFA Exhibition," Swaleha Masude (@swale.ha) presents “A Young Woman's Guide to Attaining Sainthood”, a multimedia installation that brings together textiles, tilework, and video to explore the relationship between spirituality, place, and ritual. Masude invites viewers to consider how the spaces we inhabit, both architectural and societal, shape our spiritual and meditative practices.

For emerging artists, Masude emphasizes the importance of staying rooted in the heart of your practice: remembering why you're making the work, even as it grows in complexity.
