Cary's parents here taking over his page for a moment to share some very sad news we received this week.

......
It is unfathomable to us that Cary's beloved Studio Teacher, Vanessa Jones, has suddenly passed away from a heart attack on Sept 30th.

We are still in shock and devastated.

We met Vanessa on the set of Weapons in Atlanta the summer of 2024. She was one of the few Georgia based teachers who had her California certification to teach CA resident child actors. Getting her as a teacher was like winning the jackpot! She was so smart, funny, hardworking, and wonderful to be around. It's not an easy thing to pick up your life in Los Angeles and settle into a new city but Vanessa made the transition to Atlanta so easy and welcoming. She kept Cary on track with his academics and, in fact, accelerated his learning! He loved her. We loved her.

The next summer when he booked another project in Atlanta (It's Not Like That) it was a no brainer who Cary wanted again as his set teacher. She was simply the best. She took Cary all around the city on field trips. The aquarium, zoo, botanical gardens, Coco Cola museum, etc. She came out to support him when Weapons hit theaters. We texted between projects. She was one of our go to people when it came to California law on set.

She shared so many wonderful stories of her children, Makayla and Dakota, and of her parents' travels in Panama. And her Jack Russell Snoopy! She had such a big heart and we knew Cary was always safe and in good hands when she was around.
We can't even fully articulate the hole that has been left in our hearts knowing she is gone! May she rest in peace. Vanessa will be forever and deeply missed by us.
.......

Makayla and Dakota- your mother was truly one of a kind. Sending you our love ❤️
