La Scala Chopped Salad! Comment “SALAD” and I’ll send you the recipe 🫶🏼🥗✨ Someone tell @kimkardashian to tell her chef to air fry the chickpeas next time!! As someone who doesn’t really like chickpeas, I actually loved them like this! Crispy > mushy #salad #easyrecipe #lunch
Russian forces struck a Turkish-flagged civilian merchant ship with two drones while it was carrying corn through neutral waters, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. The ship’s captain was killed in the attack. The vessel caught fire and sank, with Romania taking part in the rescue operation. The crew included Azerbaijani and Indian nationals. Eleven sailors were rescued, one of them injured, while the fate of another person remains unknown.

Mahershala. In more ways than one, the Godfather of our production. In addition to playing the literal father figure in the film, @mahershalaali came to represent all the generosity of spirit that so many people put into this production. While filming Moonlight, Mahershala was also filming an experimental film called Future Relic (with the avant-garde artist Daniel Arsham) all while ALSO filming his season of Luke Cage in New York. Day-to-day, Mahershala would fly down to Miami, get to set the next day to work with us for two or three days and then, instead of going to a hotel, would go straight to the airport get on a flight to another city to work on a different film or series that he was deeply committed to the very next day. And he did it all without an ounce of lag, without an ounce of fatigue, without any detritus of the grind he was putting himself through showing up on camera. Because of this back-and-forth, Mahershala was across the longest stretch of our 25 Day filming window of any our principal cast. So even when he wasn’t there, it felt like he was THERE, which was a lovely projection of how his presence could linger over the second and third chapters of the film. It was a wonderful lingering, a spirit of purposefulness that couldn’t help but effect/infect everyone around him. Two short clips here — one just to show the LIGHT Ali brought to our set and his work. The short is an outtake from a scene not included in the film, something Mahershala, Janelle and I just riffed out. All the stuff with Little at Juan’s house was the earliest stuff filmed, literally days 2 and 3 of production. At some point on day 2 we thought Juan might be over paranoid about having a child in the house with a handgun accessible. So we riffed out this little scene that became a sweet little window into Juan’s and Theresa’s relationship. They had fun with it and Mahershala came to see, the film may not be in the final film but it’s in the final performance (this was filmed the day before Little asks Juan the seismic question later in that chapter). # But yeah… Mahershala is HIM 🙏🏿
