As diverse as the crowd was, I found myself smiling because I was surrounded by so much Black and Brown joy. There was music, dancing, laughter, and for a little while, nothing else mattered.

I hadn’t realized how much I needed a night like this until I was in the middle of it. Moments like these remind me how healing it can be to simply be in community.
