CALLING ALL RAVE HISTORIANS! 🚨🔊

Am I losing my marbles or does anyone else remember The Bucketheads – The Bomb! being played at the Haçienda around 1994/95?

I have this incredibly vivid memory of the entire dancefloor waiting for what felt like an ETERNITY for that bloody drop. The tension was ridiculous, and when it finally kicked in, the place absolutely erupted! 🙌

Who the hell was DJing? Graeme Park? Tom Wainwright? Was it even 1994? It seems such a commercial tune now, but I swear I remember hearing it before it became massive.

And being from Wigan, we obviously had our own lyrics. A lad called Wes used to sing “PEAS, CHIPS, PUDDING AND A PIE” instead of “These Sounds Fall Into My Mind.” 🤣🥧

And while we’re reminiscing, can we give some love to the local nightclubs?

Because sometimes a Friday night out in your hometown was better than trekking into Manchester or Liverpool for the big clubs.

You knew half the dancefloor, the other half knew your business, the DJ knew exactly what would get everyone going, and you could have the absolute night of your life without going anywhere glamorous.

The big clubs might have made the history books, but those little local clubs made some of our best memories.

So come on, Haçienda veterans and hometown ravers. Who was behind the decks that night? And which local nightclub deserves a bloody medal? 😂❤️

Paris Saint-Germain produced a stunning performance at the Etihad Stadium, beating Manchester City 4-2 in a chaotic Champions League encounter. The visitors completely dominated the opening half, with Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha all finding the net inside 32 minutes to leave City trailing 3-0 at the break. Erling Haaland inspired a second-half fightback with two goals, becoming City’s all-time leading Champions League goalscorer in the process, but PSG’s attacking quality proved too much as Maghnes Akliouche added a fourth. The defeat comes amid huge controversy surrounding Manchester City’s recent Premier League financial rule breaches, with former manager Pep Guardiola watching from the stands. A disastrous night for City and another statement victory for the reigning European champions.
