Heartbroken to hear of the passing of the brilliant and wise @waichinghohknyc
Not long ago, I directed a film about my grandmother and Wai played her in the film. When my grandma passed, Wai would check in on me frequently long after we wrapped. I was continually struck by her generosity and warmth.
It was such an honor to be in the presence of someone so full of wisdom and grace. To witness her on stage and screen. I wanted to share a small piece of the film we made here and celebrate the incredible human she was.
Rest in peace, Wai.

NOOO. 😭 I’m so sad to hear this. Wai was the kindest and most elegant woman. An actress filled with grace and quiet power. In my short time working with Wai, I have never forgotten her. She was one of the people I remember most fondly from this experience/project. 💛😔
