BANTUL - Polisi sampai saat ini masih memburu pelaku pencurian tabung gas LPG 3 kilogram yang videonya viral di berbagai platform media sosial setelah dikejar warga dari wilayah Kapanewon Dlingo, Kabupaten Bantul, hingga ke kawasan Giwangan, Kota Yogyakarta. Meski sempat terjatuh dan barang curian berhasil diselamatkan warga, pelaku akhirnya berhasil meloloskan diri. Kasi Humas Polres Bantul, Iptu Rita Hidayanto, mengatakan peristiwa tersebut terjadi pada Selasa (21/7/2026). Aksi pelaku yang terekam kamera pengawas (CCTV) kemudian menyebar luas di media sosial dan menjadi perhatian masyarakat karena memperlihatkan pengejaran cukup panjang di jalan raya. Pelaku diduga merupakan orang yang sama dengan beberapa kasus pencurian tabung gas sebelumnya. Karena itu, ketika warga melihat kendaraan dan ciri-ciri pelaku, mereka langsung berusaha menghentikan dan mengejarnya," ujarnya. Ia menjelaskan, peristiwa bermula sekitar pukul 11.57 WIB ketika pelaku yang mengendarai sepeda motor Suzuki Nex warna hijau putih melintas di Jalan Cino Mati, Terong, yang terekam kamera CCTV. Selanjutnya pelaku menuju wilayah Dlingo dan sekitar pukul 13.00 WIB diduga mengambil satu tabung gas LPG 3 kilogram milik Timbul Budiyono (53), warga Koripan 2, Kalurahan Dlingo. Seluruh informasi yang berkembang masih kami dalami. Kami juga mengumpulkan rekaman CCTV, memeriksa para saksi, serta melakukan penyelidikan untuk mengungkap identitas pelaku. “This is our press conference!” About 20 activists took over a police update Thursday in Madison, Wisconsin, furious after officers fatally shot a homeless man. One activist took the microphone from Chief John Patterson, arguing he was attempting to defend the officers. Videos online captured four police officers struggling with 38-year-old Corey Durell Ruiz in the street Wednesday. Ruiz injured one officer with a knife, per police. At least one officer hit Ruiz with their Taser. Another officer then kicked his leg down as another shot Ruiz several times from point-blank range. Ruiz is identified as Black or Latino in Wisconsin court records. Patterson gave few details about the shooting Thursday, saying a state investigation is ongoing. It’s not clear what led to the confrontation. Police have said they were attempting to arrest Ruiz, who had felony convictions that include robbery, strangulation, resisting an officer and causing bodily harm. None of the officers wore body cameras. Protesters have marched in the city in the wake of the shooting.
