Ylen syyskuun kannatuskyselyssä on uutinen, jota päähallituspuolue kokoomuksessa on pelätty.

Syyskuussa kokoomuksen kannatus laski ja perussuomalaisten nousi sillä seurauksella, että hallituksen kakkospuolue perussuomalaiset ohitti ensimmäistä kertaa tällä vaalikaudella kokoomuksen.

Kyselyn kärkipaikkaa pitää edelleen pääoppositiopuolue SDP, jonka kaula perässätulijoihin kasvoi edellisestä mittauksesta.

Vasemmistoliitto puolestaan tekee taas uuden ennätyksen ja hengittää jo keskustan niskaan.

Vasemmistoliitto ylsi jo kuukausi sitten puolueen historian korkeimmalle tasolle Ylen kannatusmittauksessa, mutta nyt ennätys on yhä selvempi. Syyskuun mittauksessa vasemmistoliiton kannatus nousi yli 12 prosenttiin ensimmäistä kertaa puolueen historiassa.

“Well, that’s why we have the lab.” One sentence, and Family Guy turns Dracula into the most cautious vampire alive.

Season 10, Episode 12, titled “Livin’ on a Prayer,” ends with one of those classic Family Guy cutaways that needs almost no explanation to land.

The Griffins are watching the fictional Dracula in San Francisco when Count Dracula approaches a sleeping man, ready for the usual vampire business. Except this Dracula apparently believes in preventative screening. He takes a blood sample, waits for the lab results to arrive, sees something he does not like, and immediately decides tonight is not the night.

Then comes the perfectly calm reaction: “Well, that’s why we have the lab.”

That deadpan delivery is what makes the scene unforgettable. Seth MacFarlane, who voices Dracula here along with several of Family Guy’s main characters, takes a gothic horror icon and gives him the energy of someone carefully reviewing medical paperwork before making a very important decision.

Originally aired on January 29, 2012, “Livin’ on a Prayer” is packed with Family Guy’s trademark cutaway comedy, but this tiny Dracula in San Francisco moment remains a perfect example of the show’s absurd visual storytelling. The setup is dramatic, the pause is just long enough, and the punchline arrives like Dracula has simply completed a routine workplace safety procedure.

It is ridiculous, dark, and somehow incredibly efficient. A must-see Family Guy cutaway that proves sometimes the funniest joke is the one delivered like nothing unusual happened at all.

Save this for the next time someone tells you preparation is unnecessary, or share it with the friend who would absolutely demand the lab results first.
