Innaikku semma treat uhh da 🕺🏻 Follow for more @karur_memer 🧡 Tamil Nadu CM Vijay's Salem Visit - September 1, 2026 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is visiting Salem district today, September 1, 2026, to inaugurate the opening of the sluice gates of the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur Dam for Cauvery Delta irrigation. He is scheduled to open the gates at around 10:00 ΑΜ. The water release comes after the customary June 12 opening was delayed due to inadequate storage and weak monsoon conditions. The Tamil Nadu government has decided to release water for 45 days, with the discharge initially planned at around 3,000 cusecs and expected to be increased depending on irrigation requirements. The Mettur Dam is crucial for irrigation across the Cauvery Delta. The release is expected to benefit agricultural lands across several districts, including Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai and Cuddalore. According to reports, extensive security arrangements have been made in the Mettur area ahead of the Chief Minister's visit, with a large number of police personnel deployed. After the dam-opening ceremony, Vijay is scheduled to visit the exhibition and power station at Mettur before proceeding towards Salem-Kamalapuram Airport and returning to Chennai. The water release is expected to provide important support to farmers preparing for the upcoming cultivation season, while the government continues to monitor the reservoir's storage, inflow and the Cauvery water situation #cmvijay #thalapathyvijay #explorepage #jananayagan
