DC’s most underrated garden 🌸 ⇉
📍 Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens is the only National Park site dedicated to aquatic plants, and their resident lotus flowers (which are kinda like the cherry blossoms of the summer) are in full bloom.
🪷 While @kenilworthnps is open (and beautiful) year round, the Lotus and Water Lily Festival is our favorite time to visit. It’s happening July 18 + 19 this year and will feature yoga, meditation, forest bathing and more.
—> Regardless of when you go, plan to get there early so you can see the flowers fully open (& beat the heat)!!
🐸 Last thing, remember to practice leave no trace principles when you visit by staying on established paths, never picking flowers, & giving wildlife ample space 🫶
