Welcome Bacon, Egg, and Toast to the foster family! 🥓🥚🍞 They’re a bit unhealthy and have a few issues that we will get taken care of ASAP 🙏🏻 Thank you @rescuedpetsmovement for coordinating everything and making sure these babies get the absolute best care from here on out! I’m so glad these 3 lives were saved today, but there are hundreds more every single week who aren’t as lucky 😞 The shelters here in Texas are forced to euthanize for space because of extreme over population of dogs and cats and overcrowding in shelters. We can all be part of the solution by getting your pets fixed and always adopt instead of buying from a breeder. #shelterpets #adoptashelterpet #rescuedpets #fosterkittens #fosterhome

When I lost Kyle, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined. But even in the deepest heartache, God has continued to show me His love through the incredible people who have surrounded me, lifted us up, and carried me through days I never thought I could face. As the holidays approach, my heart is especially with the families navigating this season without someone they love. I know firsthand how heavy this time of year can feel when someone who should be there is missing. I have been blessed beyond words by the kindness, generosity, and love others have shown our family. And as I continue to navigate this journey, I feel called to take some of that love and pour it into others who may need it most. That is why I am so grateful to introduce The Widow’s Wish Project. 8 Women. 18 Families. A Legacy of Love. Through this project, we hope to honor Kyle’s legacy by bringing a little extra love, joy, and light to families who could use it this Christmas. UPDATE: Nominations are now CLOSED. “The God of all comfort… comforts us… so that we can comfort those in any trouble.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

Day 2 of resharing some of my favorite memories with Nonno ❤️🪽 My nonno and nonna’s story began in Latronico, a small mountain town in southern Italy. Their families were friends, so they had known each other their whole lives, but they started dating when my nonna was just 14 and my nonno was 16. My nonno came from a humble family, but he had big dreams. Those dreams took him to Naples to study medicine, and after earning his degree, he returned home and married my nonna. Just one month after their wedding, he left for America, where the rest of his family had already settled, hoping to build a better life. My nonna stayed behind while he spent a year working, saving, and getting established. When he had enough money, he sent for her to join him. Soon after she arrived, they welcomed my uncle Paul and began building their family together. That young boy from a small mountain town went on to become a family doctor with his own practice in Astoria, Queens, where he cared for generations of families over more than 60 years. To so many people in the neighborhood, he was someone they knew, trusted, and loved. Above everything, though, he was a family man. He loved the life they built in America, though he stayed so connected to the people and the town where it all began. Until the very end, he kept close relationships with his cousins and family in Italy. Hearing the affection people speak about him with, whether they knew him as family, a friend, or their doctor, says so much about the person he was. My grandparents went back to Latronico every summer, and as they got older, those visits stretched into months. My brother and I grew up spending our summers there with them, too. We got to know the people, the food, and the traditions they had grown up with, and made our own memories in the place where their story began. That little town will always hold such a special place in our hearts because of them. They gave us a life here, and they gave us roots there. I’m so grateful we got to share both.
