HOT GIRLS DO HARD SHIT!!! 🤣💓 Despite the weather, my contacts coming out at 12km (and practically running blind) and the lack of water (IYKYK), we hit sub 2 and came out with a 1:54 for my first half marathon😭😭😭 If you had told me a year ago I’d be running, let alone voluntarily signing up for a race - I would have laughed. I feel like everyone has a “why” when it comes to signing up for something crazy like this - you could just love the sport for what it is, you might be running for a cause, you may be running in honour of a loved one - whatever it is, I genuinely find it so inspiring. As you guys may know, when I signed up for this last year my why was because I had just quit vaping after 10 years and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do what seemed impossible at the time. So together with my partner in crime @hwoo.lee , we signed up for this with absolutely 0 running experience. My first proper attempt at a run was Jan this year where I could barely run 5km. I was determined and maybe a tad delusional, but I really wanted to push myself and show up for myself in ways I had never before. From 0 cardio to completing a 12 week training block, running has shown me what consistency can do for you and that you are capable of doing ANYTHING you set your mind to. Whether it’s quitting a bad habit/addiction, or picking up a sport you’ve never been good at. You are the author of your own story so never limit your growth by saying you can’t do something! Im no where near a pro runner but I sure as hell am in a better position than i was at the start of this year and that’s good enough for me! A massive thank you to my partner for pushing me every single day, my family and friends for supporting me through going on runs together or coming to cheer, @osaat.running for helping me push myself further than i would have on my own and to @shokzaunz for letting me run on your team for this half mara! 🥹🤍 Anyway it is a privilege to do hard things in life. To be tired from something you choose and to struggle for something you want. I hope we all continue to challenge ourselves in life!! 🤍
