**Neonatology is more than my specialty—it is my passion.**

Over the past two weeks, I have had the privilege of contributing to capacity building in neonatal care.

Last week, I was at **Margaret Lawrence University Teaching Hospital, Abuja**, facilitating a session on **Respiratory Support in the Newborn**, where we explored practical approaches to caring for critically ill neonates in both resource-limited and advanced settings.

This week, I delivered a lecture on **Infection Prevention and Control in the NICU**, emphasizing evidence-based practices that reduce healthcare-associated infections and improve neonatal outcomes.

These experiences remind me that one of the greatest ways we can improve newborn survival is by investing in the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals. Every clinician empowered through education has the potential to positively impact hundreds of newborns throughout their career.

I am grateful to the organizers and participants for the engaging discussions, thoughtful questions, and shared commitment to advancing neonatal care.

Together, we can continue to strengthen neonatal services and give every newborn the best possible start in life.
