Rocker-bottom foot (congenital vertical talus) 🦶🏼 is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by a prominent, rigid convex sole and a prominent, rounded heel. As shown in the video, the foot bends downward in the middle, resembling the curved rocker of a rocking chair. Pathologically, the talus bone is vertically displaced, forcing the navicular bone to dislocate dorsally onto the talar neck. Seen in: 1. Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18): 🧬 The classic, high-yield genetic association, often appearing alongside microcephaly, low-set ears, and clenched fists with overlapping fingers. 2. Patau Syndrome (Trisomy 13): 🔬 Another major chromosomal abnormality associated with severe structural and neurological defects. 3. Neuromuscular Conditions: 🧠 Conditions like spina bifida or arthrogryposis that cause severe intrauterine muscle imbalances. 4.
