Matt smiles at Odette looking at her photos of the day.
“Beverly looked so beautiful. And when our song played at the reception? It was such a perfect day.” She says and Matt couldn’t agree more, and he knew what would make it even more perfect. Although it is not quite what he had planned when he spoke with her parents last week, it felt like the perfect day.
He gets down on one knee and looks deeply in her eyes. She still takes his breath away even a year later.
“Listening to Beverly and Dean express their love for each other and share their story made me even more sure that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And I know this isn’t the romantic setting I quite planned but when you are as sure as I am you want that life to start as soon as possible. I love you Odette, I always have, from the moment we met at Wasaga Beach. Will you marry me?”
Odette gasps, but quickly gushes out a very enthusiastic “Yes!!! A thousand times yes!”
They embrace and kiss, and Matt smirks. “Now call your mom and let her know, she’s been anxiously waiting and asking me when every day since I asked them for their blessing last week.”
