🇵🇷🖋️ Walking past this mural in Spanish Harlem reminded me just how many incredible Puerto Rican stories are all around us if we actually take the time to look! Julia de Burgos was so much more than a poet. She used her words to write about Puerto Rican identity, freedom, love, and women’s independence, and her legacy continues to live on in both Puerto Rico and here in New York City.
