Beyond stoked to share my poster for one of my all-time favorite bands ever @modestmouse!!!! Live tonight supporting their amazing new album An Eraser and A Maze tonight @thesquarepdx w/ @wattfrompedro downtown Portland, Oregon! 🤯🔥🙌
The first time I heard Modest Mouse was in late 90s skateboard video Misled Youth @toymachine commercial with their song “Shit Luck” - “THIS PLANE IS DEFINITELY CRASHINGGG!!!” - I was like who the f is this!??? It’s kinda punk but not! So maybe then @ed.templeton introduced me and all of us! I never heard anything like it! I went back and immediately listened to everything I could find from them and was completely hooked on Lonesome Crowded West and really resonated with Building Nothing Out of Something and The Moon & Antarctica. All of their newer albums have really grown on me and this new one is amazing! It’s like a mix of old and new Modest Mouse it’s perfect. Isaac is a genius everyone knows. My absolute fav tho is Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About. It was like hearing music that finally understood how I felt about the world and people and stuff at a deeper creative even spiritual or metaphysical cosmic level. It was just a few years later that I tried my hand at making band posters and I knew I would make one for Modest Mouse one day. That day is today and it’s a dream come true! Life’s a dream! I get to finally mark this one off my bucket list! Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Metallica you’re next! Haha!
The craziest part about all this is today’s date August 9th also just happens to mark exactly 20 years TO THE DAY that I moved to Portland! So crazy!! Hello universe!
This poster is also a bit of a tribute to Portland and my time spent in the city! I just wanted to make it fun and memorable and represent the city and the fun and trippy vibes of Modest Mouse.
Pick a dragon’s pocket and a poster up at the show! Will have very limited hand-embellished numbered and signed (by me) prints available on my website tomorrow morning at 10am!

Also! - Very cool to see some old friends in the “Life’s A Dream” video “doctor” @dwntwnmattbrown (who lived with Isaac and once told me I should meet him cause I’m weird like him lol, right doctor!?) and the inimitable and amazing @mattressfanclub! - I put aside a poster for all of you and homie @tinygiantsbrewing! 😎🫡
