October, so far. 🤍

A little bit of everything, and so much to be grateful for. Life has been moving, changing, surprising me, and reminding me that every season has its purpose.

Some things I’ve prayed for, some I’ve worked incredibly hard for, and some I never saw coming. But somehow, everything keeps aligning in ways I couldn’t have planned myself.

Learning to embrace the changes, appreciate the little moments, and trust that everything is unfolding for my highest good.

A full heart, a grateful soul, and so much more to look forward to. ✨

Just me and my lovely granddaughter ♥️ She keeps trying to teach me her lighting angles. I keep trying to teach her about compound interest. We’re at a polite stalemate. 📈✨

The home I dream of building is more than just four walls and a roof. It's a place where peace lives, where love feels safe, and where children never have to question whether they're allowed to be happy. ❤️‍🩹🏡

My house won't smell like cigarettes.
My house won't have alcohol as an excuse.
My house won't have an angry man around.
My house won't have kids walking on eggshells.
My house won't have footsteps that make hearts race.
My house won't have kids sitting at the top of the stairs.
My house won't carry that unwelcome feeling.
My house won't have voices raised in rage.
My house won't have children hoping today is a good day.

Because childhood should be about laughter, not fear. Home should be a place where little hearts feel protected, not a place where they learn to read footsteps, recognize moods, or stay silent to avoid someone's anger.

No child should have to wonder which version of a parent will walk through the door. No child should have to hide their feelings, make themselves smaller, or pray for a peaceful day in the place that's supposed to make them feel safest.

I want a home where mistakes are met with patience, where disagreements don't become threats, where apologies mean something, and where love isn't something children have to earn by being quiet or perfect.

A home where the loudest sounds are laughter, the heaviest feelings can be shared without fear, and every child knows they are loved even on their worst days.

Maybe I cannot change the childhood I experienced, the things I witnessed, or the moments that taught me what love should never feel like. But I can choose what happens next. I can break the patterns, unlearn the unhealthy behaviors, and build something softer for the people who will call my home theirs.

I don't want a perfect family. I want a healthy one. A family that communicates, forgives, takes responsibility, and chooses kindness even when life gets difficult.

Because the real dream isn't an expensive house, beautiful furniture, or a perfect life from the outside.
