#Whalefall is in theaters Friday, get tickets now.

I felt really inspired this FW season by looks with silk and draping contrasting against stiff tailoring, wide belts, and scarves synched at the waist, pointy shoes and tassel necklaces and am looking forward to incorporating these into my wardrobe this season. There’s something really cool about how feminine and masculine work in tandem with these looks and how something really delicate can also feel quite powerful. I also wanted to make note that Victorian styles are derived from south East/East Asian and middle eastern influences through British imperialism and colonialism. The cummerbund, for example, was adopted by the British army in colonial India. Members of the Indian army wore Kamarbands which loosely translates to “waist-band”.

Dear little me,

You had no idea where this game would take you.

You just knew you loved fútbol. You looked up to the women wearing the red, white and blue and dreamed of one day representing your country too.

Years later, I opened an email that made me stop and read it twice…

I’ve been selected to represent the United States. I get to put USA across my chest 🇺🇸 I don’t know if I’ll ever have words to describe what that means to me.

But I know little me would be proud.

We’re only just starting ✨🙏🏼
