Did you used to run to answer the home telephone as a child, twiddle and stretch the smooth coiled cord wire, draped over the sofa’s arm, round your fingers, where you sit beside the warm interior light.
The sculptural installation emulates prescence in the home, fleeting moments suspended in time desiring for connection and the nurturing of adult friendships. The curled cord strains, being pulled down in a moment of tension. The lampshade appears surreal, naked and unfinished, lacking warmth, besides its exaggerated draping pink tassels, almost touching the floor.
